Guardian Angels’ allotment is a special outdoor learning space where our children can explore nature, develop practical life skills and learn about caring for God’s world. The allotment gives pupils the opportunity to plant, grow and harvest a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers whilst experiencing the changing seasons first-hand. It is a calm and nurturing environment that supports both wellbeing and curiosity.

Through working in the allotment, children learn the importance of teamwork, patience and responsibility. Pupils take pride in caring for the plants, preparing the soil and helping the allotment to flourish. These hands-on experiences help children understand where food comes from and encourage healthy lifestyles, sustainability and respect for the environment.

The allotment also supports our wider curriculum by providing opportunities for outdoor learning across many subjects, including science, art and PSHE. Whether sketching in nature, building habitats for wildlife or observing plants as they grow, pupils are encouraged to become confident, caring and environmentally aware learners.

Our allotment reflects the values of Guardian Angels’ Roman Catholic Primary School — to love, learn and grow together. It is a much-loved part of school life where children can build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy meaningful experiences outdoors.
